Old San Jose: A True Success Story for the High-End Jacksonville Market
Old San Jose: A True Success Story for the High-End Jacksonville Market
Posted March 5, 2013
We reported late last year, that if you’re lucky enough for a residence at Old San Jose to fit your budget and lifestyle, then you should act fast. Time has proved us right. Old San Jose on the River, on San Jose Boulevard between San Marco and Lakewood, is just about sold out, but there are still a few precious opportunities left to get into one of the most desirable new stylish enclaves in the San Jose/San Marco area. Tucked into the established century old oak trees, and right on the banks of the St. John’s, Old San Jose’s homes, home sites, condos and coach homes are being snapped up at a frightening pace.
Longtime residents of San Jose had long been looking forward to the Old San Jose development to materialize when it was announced, and initially promoted. The development rises from the prime riverfront location that was formerly the old River Reach apartments.

Why such a sales boom, and why so fast? Several reasons. If you work downtown, in San Marco or Riverside, you’ve got a short commute. And it’s not far from the Mandarin, Baymeadows area. The Old San Jose buyer is looking for new, upscale living in an older, established neighborhood. That’s a hot commodity nowadays, and Old San Jose has delivered big time.

An example: Their Avondale model is typical of the fine fit and finishings you’ll see in every Old San Jose residence. There are 10 foot ceilings, lots of custom moldings throughout, solid wood cabinets, stainless appliances and granite countertops in the kitchen, all standard. Master baths have deep soaking tubs and separate walk-in showers, and they’ve really considered the need for storage, which is not always very well thought out in finer homes. You have three car garages with carriage style doors and paver driveways, 8 foot solid core interior doors, tankless gas water heaters, and the kitchen cook tops are gas as well.
For a community with this level of living, in the heart of San Jose, it doesn’t get any better than Old San Jose. There’s still time for a lucky few to get in on the action.
